A brief history of Life, Death, and Other Famous Recipes:
The book, which is a collaboration of my poetry, photography, and music, is due to be released on 01/01/2011. Some have called it another “coffee table” book, but rest assured it is anything but that. The secret ingredient if you will is how the book was engineered. As both a writer and reader of poetry, I know first hand it can be somewhat daunting.
My book is not just paper and ink, but rather an emotion to be experienced by the reader as such. Each poem will contain an accompanying photograph or song, both of which are original works by me. Instead of just “reading” the poem, there will be a visual or audible attachment to place the reader as close to the same mindset I was in when it was written. Every poem, every photograph, and every song tells a story; When combined they create an emotion which takes the reader on a journey.
This site began as ground zero for the book, however, over the past six months it has taken on a life of its own. As a writer, photographer, and musician, I would make a terrible host if I did not share posts on the very subjects that fueled the book.
Life, Death, and Other Famous Recipes “the site” evolved into more than a marketing tool for the book. It has become a platform for me to write about the latest photographer, interview an up and coming musician, share my latest poetry, or post whatever happens to be on my mind via “The Think Tank.”
Many people have asked what will become of the site after the book is released, and honestly I do not have an answer. Will there still be a need for the site; Probably not. Will there still be a need for a platform to share my thoughts; Of course. With that said I may shut this blog down and start another, or I may just keep this one going since I will always have something to share that revolves around my passion.
Whatever the outcome I am glad you are here, and I trust you will enjoy the various articles, photography, and music. While you are here, it is a perfect time to sign up for the newsletter to keep up with what is going on. I send only one a month, and will never give out personal information. It has happened to me more times than I wish to remember, and I would never wish it on anyone, especially a fan.
Be well, enjoy the day, and may life bring you immeasurable amounts of success and prosperity.
