Sir Ken Robinson: Bring on the learning revolution!

I came across Sir Ken Robinson’s first speech in 2006, and as a creative with a son in middle school, found myself standing and cheering Sir Ken on! Someone had finally said what I had been thinking for years. I sent that video to every faculty member at my son’s school hoping for a spark, and a change. Unfortunately, nothing changed, and I didn’t receive one response from the fifteen faculty members who received the video. I am not sure which of the two scenarios were more depressing.

Sir Robinson is back with a follow up to that amazing, eye opening speech from 2006, and again I find myself cheering him on.

My son will graduate next month, but I will send the video onto the faculty again, as there are children who have no artistic outlets and reach out to drugs and alcohol to fill the void. When will the big people learn what the little people need?
